I am a shopper. I love it. I even like shopping for things I don’t like or even use (aka the lawn mower). Early in my Internet shopping career I met Amazon.com and our love affair was born. Amazon.com just keeps getting better with all their stuff and their Amazon Prime Shipping. What more could a shopper want than instant gratification of overnight shipping?
I am sure you can guess where this is going. I have a lot of stuff or should I say, my family has a lot of stuff. We have every kids video ever made it seems. My husband has a million Playstation 2 games (and yes we all know those are outdated now - eye roll). And I have books and more books. Books about parenting, feeding your baby, how to get pregnant, how to stay pregnant, how to have a natural birth (oops didn’t read that one), how to raise a smart kid, how to play with kids, how to clean the house, how to cook- you are getting the idea I hope. Then after the pile of how-to books I have fun books : Photography, art, humor, fiction, non fiction, true crime and more. I like to read.
The only problem is these books I just had to have take up a lot of space. And we all know how fickle children can be with videos. One day they want to watch it 12,678 times and the next day they hate that movie. Enter www.swaptree.com I first heard about swaptree on Good Morning America and I was hooked. The idea is simple and the execution has proven to be flawless for me. You create an account and enter the ISBN number or UPC codes to list your books (this is referred to as your “haves”) then you can import your Wish List from Amazon.com to fill your “wants.” You can also shop around on Swaptree.com to add books to your “wants.” Now you maybe thinking, “I don’t want to spend the time finding out what other people have to see if we have a match.” You don’t have to– swaptree does it for you. They even do some kind of three way trade and then everyone is happy
I am going on my 18th trade right now and love it. All you pay is shipping which you print from your computer so you don’t have to dare go to the dreaded post office (that is another post in itself). If you got this far.. great now go sign up for Swaptree and save the earth, shop and declutter all at once!
